Self driving your game drives in Etosha is very simple, the park is well laid out and there are many waterholes that you can visit. Should you wish to have a guided game drive or night drive during your stay in Etosha this can be organised by your tour consultant.
DAY 5 & 6 : WEST CAPRIVI
This section of the tour ventures up to the lush green riverbanks of the Caprivi. Popular activities in the area include boat cruise, mokoro (dug out canoe) excursions, game drives in Mahangu and Bwabwata National Park, birding activities and cultural village visits. Most lodges in this region also have camping sites so cater for all budgets.
DAY 7 & 8: EAST CAPRIVI
Bwabwata Game Reserve extends 170km through the Caprivi Strip and was formerly known as the Caprivi Game Park. It is an area rich in wildlife with elephant, buffalo, hippos, crocs and many antelope. Birding in Bwabwata is fantastic with over 300 different bird species recorded in the area. Most lodges in the area offer game drive activities, game cruises on the Kwando River, Fishing, mokoro excursions and cultural village visits as well as birding and guided nature walks.
The majority of lodges have on site camping as well as lodge rooms.
DAY 9, 10 & 11 : CHOBE RIVERFRONT (BOTSWANA)
Chobe National Park in Botswana is an area rich in game and birdlife. Lodges in this area generally offer game cruises on the Chobe River, which is quite a unique experience and common to see large herds of elephants and other wildlife drinking at the river bank. The other main activity in this area are game drives inside Chobe National Park.
DAY 12 & 13 : VICTORIA FALLS (ZIMBABWE OR ZAMBIA)
Finally after your extensive game viewing journey it is a short drive to Victoria Falls. You can camp on the banks of the Zambezi River. Guided tours to the Falls are available but it is also very simple to visit by yourselves and the maps provided at the entrance provide all the information you will require. We highly recommend taking a sunset cruise on the Lady Livingstone as a perfect way to end your trip.
