Botswana Self Drive Itineraries
Large parts of Botswana require a 4x4 vehicle and a relative amount of experience driving in sand.
These itineraries below however are designed with the novice in mind, and are easily driveable in a comfortable SUV, or even a sedan car if you prefer. This is particularly handy if you are looking to keep the costs of your safari down, as Botswana in general is a fairly expensive country to travel.
For experienced 4x4 drivers we can also put together itineraries that take you into the more difficult driving areas of Moremi Game Reserve, Savuti, Linyati and Chobe.
Self driving gives you the opportunity to take everything in at your own pace, to stop for photo opportunities wherever you like.
Discover Namibia Safaris in conjunction with the vehicle rental firms give a 24 hour back up and support service to all out self drivers, as well as detailed maps and information packs.
You can browse through our accommodation listings to create your own itinerary, or select from one of the many 'off the shelf' self drive safaris we offer.
Discover Namibia Safaris will also tailor make your self drive safari to your requirements.

From small beginnings...
Discover Namibia Safaris was formed back in 2008 by owner Gemma Dry.
A love of nature and the natural world drew Gemma to Africa in 2004, and from there the exploring began!
Discover Namibia is an owner run business, and our small dedicated team mean that we can tailor-make each trip to suit our clients interests, requirements and also their budgets.
In South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius, Seychelles & Maldives
South Africa, Mozambique and the Indian Ocean Islands are world class destinations for scuba diving.
If you are not already a qualified diver then most resorts offer scuba courses, and if you are already qualified then you will find dives to cater for all levels.
From the largest fish on the planet, the whale shark, to tiny nudibranch there is something for everybody!
Add some beach relaxation after your safari.
If you are searching for a spot of relaxation following your safari, then you cannot go wrong with a trip extension to include one of the Indian Ocean Islands, or Mozambique.
Kick back and relax, catch some rays. Enjoy a relaxing dhow cruise and watch the sunset with a classic African sundowner.
Snorkelling, scuba diving, horse riding, boat cruises and deep sea fishing are available.
